Welcome
Informal views on the strains and stresses of family relationships by Kerry Larbalestier, a partner at Harold Michelmore Solicitors.
Kerry qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and is a member of Resolution and of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel. She is also a Collaborative Lawyer (which she is very excited about!) and a member of the Devon Group of Collaborative Lawyers.
Kerry writes:
Thank you for reading my blog spot. I hope this gives you some food for thought but it is very much my personal view and is not intended in any way to be legal advice.
I work in a small market town in South Devon. Although I am a Family Lawyer I am not yet cynical enough to claim the concept of family life is dead, much to the relief of my much loved (and long-suffering) husband and daughter. We make the most of where we live and most of my spare time is spent on family activities.
I am acutely aware of the stresses and strains modern life can place on a family. As a Practitioner I aim to try and make a difficult time for clients as straightforward as is possible in their circumstances. Living in a fairly small community means discretion is an absolute must (as well as a professional given) and accordingly I will be commenting on issues in general terms to avoid any breach of confidence.
I must add that where I give examples I will have altered the facts so as to make any actual case unrecogisable but in doing so I will create and tell a story to convey something that I hope will be interesting.
Clients can relax; their secrets are completely safe!
